LIVING IN ALIGNMENT & CREATING A LIFE ON PURPOSE - By Mark Bryant

HAVE YOU WATCHED INSIDE OUT?
If not, it is a great movie even if you are an adult. In the movie, five emotions – Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust – live inside the mind of a young girl named Riley. The movie teaches us an important lesson about our emotions and how they shape our decisions and experiences.
VALUES
Just like in the movie, we all have values that guide our decisions and shape our future. Our values are the compass that points us in the right direction and helps us make decisions that align with our beliefs and principles. However, most people are stuck living outside in – meaning they are not living according to their values.
OUTSIDE IN
Living outside in means that we are living life according to the expectations of others, the latest trends, or social and cultural norms. We are not making decisions based on our own intuition, belief and values. As a result, we often feel unfulfilled, and unhappy and lack purpose in our lives.
INSIDE OUT
On the other hand, living inside out means that we are living life according to our values. We are making decisions based on what we believe is right and what aligns with our intuition and beliefs. When we live in alignment we are more likely to experience a greater sense of inner peace and harmony, as well as a deep sense of self-respect and self-worth.
LEAN IN
Living with intuition and integrity is not always easy, especially when faced with difficult decisions. Try to lean into those difficult situations. Whilst more challenging at the time it will give you a deeper sense of clarity and purpose and help you navigate even the toughest challenges.
THE TEST
I am writing this because the last 6 months have tested me to my core. It has forced me to go within and look at where I may be living out of alignment. For those that don’t know me, I was considered terminally ill with 6 months to live on April 16 having had a relapse following a stem cell transplant for leukaemia. I became empowered with my own recovery, claimed my own life insurance and set about rebuilding my own immune system.
LIFELONG GOALS
In August 2022 I completed a lifelong goal of becoming an Ironman completing the full-distance event in Ireland. I went from Terminal to Triathlon. In the same month, a legal case that had been dragging its heels came to a head in a mediation which cost a significant amount of money and then just 6 weeks later I was told I had a major relapse.

I really was back in the trenches. Luckily for me, I had come across Jean–Pierre De Villers who I had been working with as my coach. He has been a coach for over 20 years working with CEO’s, celebrities and Olympic Athletes and one of his major guiding principles is always to strip everything back to our values.
THE BREAKTHROUGH
The good news is that I am six months on, I am reclaiming my health again and he has invited me to work with his team to build the JPDV Performance Mastermind. As well as happily being a student, I am also one of the Master Coaches helping our clients develop the disciplines to create more Wealth, Health and Happiness.
